Jack's "Dol" Birthday

This past weekend we celebrated Jack's "Dol" Birthday. "Dol" is a traditional Korean 1st Birthday party for a baby. We continued our tradition and had his birthday party at a Chinese restaurant. We invited family and a few friends to his birthday party.
We had Jackson wear a hanbok (the traditional Korean attire). The highlight of the the dol is a ritual where the child is placed in front of a table of foods and objects such as a string, rice, pencils, etc. Whatever object the child picks up is to "predict the future".
Jackson was placed in front of several objects and picked the golf ball first, which predicts he will be athletic. The next object he chose was the rice, which predicts a wealthy life.
It was so great to be together with friends and family to celebrate Jack's first year! Jack, you are so special to us and have so many people who love and support you. Happy Birthday!

All the kids (Drew, Maddy, Ella, Cooper, Kate, Nolan, Cooper, Baylor, Austin and Ben!:)
