THE Train Ride

As many of you know, Drew has a slight obsession with trains. He plays with trains all day, he loves any book with a train in it, he get's excited to just go over the railroad track....let alone actually see a train. So, over a year ago when he was potty training we thought of this great idea that we would take Drew on a train ride when he was potty trained. He had no problem peeing in the toilet at 2 1/2 years old. But it took him a while to go poop in the toilet. Well, the summer passed by, then the fall. Then around the last week in December he finally made the plunge!:) So, Austin and I started looking into train rides. We knew of several places but quickly found out that the local train rides were seasonal. So, from January through May, Drew knew he would be getting a train ride "after Dad's birthday". He prayed almost every night during this period for his train ride...and the day finally arrived. We went to a small, local train depot and went on a train ride. We were the only passengers and Drew had a blast. He was so quiet and in awe of the whole experience. It was truly priceless. Here are a few pictures of the train adventure.
