The last few weeks have been a little calm but Austin and I know the next two weeks are going to be very busy for our whole family. We have two big events coming up. My friend Becky is getting married this weekend and the following week will be one big family reunion for Austin's family. There are 24 in his immediate family (and 3 very special significant others) that will be here in town! We are so excited for the next two weeks! But it will be a busy time!!
I wanted to share a couple of things that have been going on the last few weeks:
- Dad took Maddy on her first date. Maddy was so excited about her anticipated "first date". She picked out her dress a few days ahead and knew the "date" was going to be special. But she had no idea what a date was. She was just excited she was going to be a part of it!:) Well last Saturday, Maddy had her first date. Dad took Maddy to breakfast, they went to the library to play and pick out some books and then went to the store to pick out a new puzzle. She had so much fun and talked about it for the rest of the week. I think it will be something she will look forward to from now on!:)
- Maddy has a new obsession. She has moved past her books to puzzles. She loves puzzles. She loves her alphabet puzzles. She knows the whole alphabet and the sounds they make (because of the video "Letter Factory"). Maddy has started to master the 24/25 piece puzzles as well. She loves the Clifford puzzle and an Elmo one she got on her date. This is an activity we do several times in a day!!
- Andrew is officially mobile. He is not crawling but can get anywhere he wants by rolling back and forth in all directions. He is very determined to get whatever he sets his mind to. He has been sleeping a lot over the last few days so I wonder if he is going through a growth spurt.
- Maddy and I got to spend a morning at the Children's Museum with a friend from high school, Melanie, and her son Ben. I had so much fun catching up with Melanie and we enjoyed watching the kids play together! It was so nice to get together with an old friend like no time had passed by!:)
- After the ultrasounds this week, we have tallied the score. We will have 2 nieces and 7 nephews by the end of the year. Marshall and Janice will be having a boy and Steve and Tammy will be having a girl. Maddy and Andrew are exciting to have two more playmates!!
Well, I am looking forward to the next few weeks! It is going to be busy but a lot of fun!!
Take Care
Austin, Jamie, Maddy and Andrew
